My Dear Automation Professionals:
Hope all are doing well and taking care stay safe in these tough, lock-down and social distancing situations due to global Covid-19 pandemic!
The governments, administrators, hospitals, industries and people came together very well across globe to fight hard with will-power, courage. We have started learning in this new normal of the world - with some negatives but many positives like green world, clean air, no pollution, no bad traffics, adjusting to work-from-home, digital world experience etc etc. people slowly came out of the atmosphere of strange silence and grief, and life and activities started moving on, though still restricted, with caution and new reset! ["A New World… Physically Away… Still Nearer"!!!]
Highlights & Summary of outgoing quarter (Apr-Jun 2020):
The world and human as the best animal created by the GOD, started adapting and learn. Started to continue actions in a new reset new normal world. Alongside, we at ISAB also started some actions with caution, with digital world. This is a great positive outcome of this Covid-19 pandemic situation that we started believing in ourselves, in digital world, and learnt making "Work from Home" a better reality. So, after about 4-6 weeks of inactions, we slowly resumed some actions with our consistent Techtalks, but now as fully digital i.e. online as webinars. The advantages of digital mode gave us an opportunity to increase reach of our Techtalks beyond Bangalore with some speakers and many participants now being from across India; and increased frequency of these online Soft-Techtalks, SoftTalks or Webinars. In 2 months, we organized 6 online Techtalks across variety of topics like Leadership in new covid-ridden world, Lean Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, IIOT in Building Automation, Digital Supply Chain 4.0, and some interesting details about OPC UA. Alongside, few students section also organized online classes, seminars - the special amongst was the one 5-days long webinar series conducted by Kumarguru College of Technology - Coimbatore (one of our vibrant students' sections). Unfortunately, our flagships events like iAct and Annual Symposium could not be held due to lock-down social distancing situations.
We also started conducting monthly executive committee meeting fully online now and all set to have 1st ISA Bangalore AGM as online virtual. So new situations of this reset world has brought some positive changes in the form of digital transformation of some of our activities. Fortunately, Bangalore is in better conditions compared to many other parts of India and world, and we hope to see actions start in coming few months. One potential 1st upcoming event is the next-batches of ISA 62443 cybersecurity certification training course (expected in July-2020, subject to safety & social distancing norms being worked out in the outset of Covid-19).
On the other side, ISA launched much awaited ISA Connect platform (likeLinkedIn) to connect all ISA members across globe on this well-designed platform. At present, it is launched with early-access mode providing restricted access only to ISA division, district & section leaders. After few months of hardening through live usage, it will soon be made available to all ISA members. It will open a great opportunity to learn and network globally. Outlook of upcoming Quarter (Jul-2020 onwards):  After upcoming AGM on 27-Jun a new Executive committee under the able leadership of our President-elect Mr Umashankar, who will takeover with a new team end of June-2020. We are committed and passionate to continue work together take ISAB &ISA to newer strength and heights.["Stay Safe Think Positive… Pray GOD"!!!]
